What’s the difference between the old feeder and the upgraded one?
This upgraded PortionPro Rx automatic feeder includes our new white tag with silicone loops, updated tooling on the 2 belts, and updates to the firmware on the feeder.
What is an RFID feeder and how does it work?
Our RFID feeder works by scanning the RFID tag around your pet’s neck. Once the tag has been scanned, the feeder will open so that only the assigned pet is able to access the food during their scheduled feeding time.
What’s the difference between microchip and RFID Feeders?
Microchip feeders identify pets by the microchip implanted into the back of their necks, while active RFID feeders are able to recognize pets by the RFID tag that they wear around their neck. RFID tags also have a 2ft longer scanning distance.
Do all pets in the house need to wear a tag?
Yes, for multi pet households, we recommend that every pet in the household wears one of our RFID tags. If not, the feeder will not be able to restrict access for unrestricted pets.
How will this feeder help with my pet’s diet or obesity?
Our automatic RFID feeder stops food stealing with our unique identification system. By scheduling and limiting meals to only assigned pets, this system also helps to control portion sizes and food stealing to reduce obesity and keep pets healthy.
